This past weekend, Comic Con invaded New York. Thousands of people attended the event, and many attendees cosplayed their favorite characters. The Gothamist published a piece showcasing various cosplayers in the brand new $2.4 billion Hudson Yards 7 train station at 34th Street and 10th Avenue. The juxtaposition of costumed fans and the beautiful, modern station is visually amazing. I’ve posted some of their photos below along with a few of my own.
Cosplay in general has exploded in popularity and become one of the most visual styles of self expression. You can’t help but be amazed at some of the incredible work that goes into creating some of these costumes. Just check out the Hulkbuster cosplay below. That’s art. (EDIT: See how it was made!)
